NHL Highlights:
- In 2006 was nominated for the Selke Trophy as the best defensive forward in the NHL.
- Fisher scored his first goal as a Predator against Vancouver Canucks February 17, 2011.
- In 2012 Mike was awarded the NHL Foundation Player Award, presented to the player who applies the core values of hockey– commitment, perseverance and teamwork– to enrich the lives of people in his community.
Personal Highlights:
- July 10, 2010 in Greensboro, Georgia, in front of more than 250 family, friends and guests, Mike Fisher married popular American Country and Western singer Carrie Underwood.
- In the off-season Fisher enjoys hunting and fishing and devoting time to hockey camps in his hometown through Hockey Ministries International.
- In August, 2011 Christian writer Kim Washburn collaborated with Mike Fisher to produce the Mike Fisher biography, ‘Defender of Faith: The Mike Fisher Story.’
