Born: July 21, 1979; Stratford, New Jersey
High School:
- Adlai E. Stevenson, Lincolnshire, Illinois and Duncanville, Texas
- Named WBCA All-American, participated in WBCA High School All-America Game
- Together with sister Tauja, combined to win Illinois state basketball championship.
- Also led Duncanville volleyball team to its only state title as a junior.
College:
- University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee
- 1997-2001, voted All-American each year while a member of U of Tennessee Lady Volunteers and captured NCAA Basketball Championship
Professional Career:
- Drafted: 2001, 3rd overall, Women’s National Basketball Association
- Due to ACL injury Tamika missed entire 2001 season
- Debuted in 2002 and named WNBA Rookie of the Year
- 2005 scored her 2,000th WNBA point, fastest on record
- A 7-time WNBA All-Star, a 5-time All-WNBA selection,
- 5-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year
- WNBA All-Time Scoring Leader
Career Highlights:
- 1997 – first player credited with recording a quintuple double (25 points, 18 rebounds, 11 assists, 10 steals and 10 blocks). Accomplished the feat twice at Duncanville
