• Selected Coyotes’ captain in 2003-04
• Made international debut for Team Canada, 1999 World Championship
• 2004 won his first Gold Medal against Finland.2007, selected Canadian World Championship team Captain

Personal: Parents operate the Circle Square Ranch, a Christian summer camp in Halkirk.

Shane is a second cousin of Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price, a first cousin of Winnipeg Jets prospect Keaton Ellerby and a first cousin of two-time Olympic speed skating gold medalist Catriona Le May Doan, through marriage of husband, Bart Doan.
